Mendhar bus stand cleared of garbage heaps | | | M S NAZKI Early Times Report POONCH, Apr 24: The authorities concerned today ultimately removed garbage dumps from the Mendhar bus stand and its adjoining areas, bringing much needed respite to the people. The garbage and filth were removed from the bus stand and its adjoining areas by a team under the supervision of BDO, Mendhar, Tariq Aziz. The operation was carried out on the directions of tehsildar Salam Din, official sources said. The BDO visited all the areas of Mendhar town and asked people and traders to make efforts to keep the area clean. He asked them not to use polythene bags, saying these often choked drains. He said people should keep their surroundings clean, taking a cue from Prime Minister Narendra Modi's Swachh Bharat Abhiyan campaign. Arrangements were also made for the broadcast of Modi's Man ki Baat programme. The BDO's efforts in this regard were appreciated by the people. It is pertinent to mention here that Early Times had done a series of stories on the filthy conditions at the bus stand. |
