Every BJP leader in Kashmir is the 'boss' | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, Apr 29: The irrelevant BJP leaders in Kashmir are busy in trying to establish their supremacy over each other by resorting to different means due to which party has failed to make its presence felt in the Valley. In absence of anyone emerging as the face of the saffron party in Kashmir all the leaders, who hold different party posts are projecting themselves as the "bosses." Sources told Early Times that BJP leaders in Kashmir are trying their best to undermine the authority of each other so that they emerge as contenders for top posts in Kashmir. One of the BJP leaders, who contested the assembly elections unsuccessfully, had the potential of making it to the top but the leader lost the way after losing the polls and it seems that the leader has called it quits. Sources said, "Many BJP leaders from Kashmir were hoping that party would rehabilitate them either by nominating them to upper house or the various boards, but the BJP high command has not paid any attention towards Kashmiri leaders and has made them irrelevant." They said BJP high command is unhappy with the Kashmiri leaders as they have failed to build the party's base in the Valley. "These leaders just want security and other benefits to maintain their status but on the ground they have failed to deliver. The BJP high command was misled by the Kashmiri leaders during the 2014 assembly polls as they had made the top leaders believe that BJP would at least win 10 to 15 seats in Kashmir but the party failed to open its account in the Valley and drew blank thus puncturing the tall claims of the party of achieving the Mission 44 plus in JK," sources added. They said a few Kashmir based leaders have been served an ultimatum by the party high command to reach out to people so that party doesn't face embarrassing situation in the upcoming ULB polls. "In coming days BJP leaders are planning to hold rallies across Kashmir. They want to drive home a point that they are not sitting idle and are trying their best to reach out to the masses." Sources claimed that much hyped membership drive of the BJP proved to be just an illusion and tall claims of the BJP leaders about having enrolled thousands of people turned out to be "blatant lies" as there is no visible support for the party on the ground. "The battle among the BJP leaders to establish their writ over one another is making BJP unpopular in Kashmir as no one is ready to acknowledge the good work being done by the party," sources added. |
