JAC lambast MLAs for pleading reservation in promotions | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Apr 29 : Joint Action Committee (JAC) today held a meeting at Brahman Sabha (Prade) in which they lambasted 13 Member of Legislative Assembly (MLA) of state who have pleaded before Chief Minister for restoring the reservation in promotions. According to press release, Ved Prakash Sharma, President Brahman Sabha, expressed their grave concern and displeasure against these MLAs which proves that they have no faith in judicial system. "The reservation in promotion rules has been struck down by High Court after relentless struggle by general category employees for last 11 years and Supreme Court has also directed to maintain "status quo" of the said order", Sharma said. They further said that committee believes that these MLAs have tried to muzzle the voice of General category people by acting in partisan manner and forgotten that they been voted to power by general category voters too. "Committee has decided to call upon people to hold peaceful protests outside the residences of these 13 MLAs in their respective constituencies so that general category people are aware of their actions and teach them befitting lesson in the municipal and panchayat elections", they said. Moreover peaceful protests demonstrations will also be held at the district headquarter offices of both BJP and Congress. Protest calendar in this regard shall be issued shortly. Committee has firm faith in the vision and leadership of Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti and believes that justice will be done with the general category people and sinister agenda of fringe elements shall not be allowed to succeed. |
