Govt school students stage protest | | | MS Nazki Early Times Report
Poonch, May 14: Students of the XIth standard today staged a protest after all of them were reportedly failed in examination, the result of which was declared by the Government school in Mendhar Tehsil of Poonch district in Jammu and Kashmir. "Students of Government High School, Batardhudiya, Mendhar, who got failed in XIth standard this morning, staged protest and blocked the Poonch-Mendhar highway," police here said. The students alleged that the school authorities failed all the students, which was impossible. "We have pacified the protestors and assured them of re-checking," police said, adding that the agitators later dispersed. Sources said out of 220 students who appeared in class 11th exams , only 102 students were declared pass which fumed the students who alleged that school principal and other staff was playing with their educational career hence declared pass out of their choice, they added. On receiving the information SDPO Mandhar along with Tehsildar Mankote reached the spot and pacified the agitating students the officers justified their problem and assured them that this case will b put before the relevant fora by them at an earliest . On their assurance , the students lift the dharna and the traffic was restored. Meanwhile locals urged the authorities to reshuffle the staff of Govt school and send capable teachers to schools who will be able to manage the affairs of these schools, they added. |
