HC stays opening of CAPD fair price shops 5/15/2016 12:08:15 AM Early Times Report Jammu, May 14: High court judge B S Walia has ordered a stay on the opening of new fair price shops by CAPD department till next date of hearing. It was alleged in the petition that new licences for opening fair price shops were issued under the nose of the concerned ministry in violation of the cabinet decision No 127/11/2014 for opening 7,697 departmental sale outlets in CAPD sector in place of the existing fair price shops wherein it was also decided that in the new departmental outlets, preference for jobs would be given to those who were already working in the existing fair price shops. The petitioner's counsel said issuance of licences for new fair price shops was a clear cut violation of the existing cabinet decision and it was withdrawn, the officials or any authority had no right to issue new new license in this regard. After hearing him, Justice Walia ordered a stay on the opening of new fair price shops till the next date of hearing.
