DB issues warrant against DC Baramulla | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 14: A division bench of high court has issued a bailable warrant against deputy commissioner Baramulla in a contempt petition. The division of the court comprising Chief Justice N Paul Vasanthakumar and Justice Ali Mohammad Magrey issued the warrant against the DC, Mrs Yasha Mudghal in the contempt petition filed by one Shabir Teeli, seeking implementation of order last year. In its order of 2-7-2015, the high court had directed collector Agrarian Reforms, Baramulla to execute the judgment and decree of trial court within three weeks which was passed on December 1970. As the judgment was not implemented, the aggrieved party approached the court and it issued notice to the respondents for their response to the contempt petition. The matter was listed in March and on that date counsel representing DC sought two weeks time for filing status report regarding implementation of the order. While granting the time, the court had said in case status report is not filed, then DC should appear in person. Thereafter the matter was against listed on May 10 and on that date government counsel requested listing of the case for May 11. On the date again request was made for postponing the matter for May for May12 and the court directed DC to remain present personally. When the matter was called for hearing, additional advocate general submitted that despite intimation given to DC, she has not appeared and court issued warrants in the sum of Rs 25000 for securing her presence for taking the court order so casually and directed SSP to execute the warrant. |
