Samba, May 17: Despite fatal road accident in which many are left maimed and crippled, the over loading of passenger vehicles, school buses and even private vehicles goes unnoticed courtesy the concerned authorities have adopted Nelson's eye approach towards it importance duty to put a check on the menace. Sambaites lamented that Public vehicles plying on all routes are seen overloaded on routine and thus increasing chances of the accidents. "The things don't stop here are not only the public transport vehicle sre overloaded but the private vehicles also buoyantly violate traffic norms, they said, adding, " the authorities are in deep slumber. "To make easy money bus and mini bus operators are violating the traffic norms and accommodate more passengers than the actual capacity in the vehicles, they rued and alleged, "there is no body to keep check on them." During the peak hours i.e. during office and school timing the mini buses and busses on peripheral routes in the Samba are always seen overloaded on the roof tops, they added. "Students, youths are also seen clinging with doors of mini buses, some local said, adding, " not only mini buses even the auto rickhaws which are considered as unstable vehicle are also seen overloaded all times. The Motor Vehicle Department and traffic police seem to have adopted a casual approach and have turned a blind eye to the menace reasons better known to the officials at the helms of affairs while local attribute it to the unholy nexus between Traffic police and mini bus operators. |
