Jan condemns govt action on poor vendors | | | Early Times Report Poonch, May 20: Condemning sudden action of district administration on poor street vendors of Poonch town, Provincial President of Youth NC, Ajaz Jan accompanied by the affected vendors called upon Deputy Commissioner Poonch and demanded immediate rehabilitation steps. Today morning the poor street vendors met YNC Provincial President Ajaz Jan in Poonch and informed him about a sudden action initiated by District administration without any prior notice. "All our structures and things lying have been damaged in sudden late evening action of administration and our source of livelihood has been snatched " these poor vendors informed Jan claiming that administration not even bothered to give them any notice before such a harsh action. Giving a patient hearing to the issue of vendors, Ajaz Jan assured them of every possible help. Later a deputation of these street vendors led by YNC Provincial President Ajaz Jan called upon Deputy Commissioner Poonch MH Malik in his office. Jan while interacting with DC Poonch demanded that amid action against these vendors, administration should also identify any separate place where these poor vendors can carry their business and can earn bucks for running their families. "Immediately take steps of rehabilitation of these affected vendors as on the name of congestion we cannot kick the source of livelihood of these poor masses " he stated. Besides this Ajaz Jan also took up the matter of shifting of light passenger vehicles from old bus stand of Poonch. " Light vehicles are plied from bus stand and heavy ones are moved out of town but in Poonch administration is running on reverse direction " Jan said while demanding immediate accommodation of light vehicles on existing place. He also appealed district administration not to kick the source of livelihood of the poor masses. |
