Khour PS SHO, woman SPO sent to 15 days' judicial remand | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 20: Judicial Magistrate, Akhnoor, Jeewan Kumar today granted 15 days' judicial remand of Khour police station SHO Mohammad Iqbal Chagattaa and SPO Mamta Kumari in a rape case. When Chagattaa and Mamta were produced before the judicial magistrate, he, while observing that the offences were heinous in nature, sent them to 15 days' judicial remand up to June 4 next with the direction to produce them before the court on that day. The SHO was arrested after a girl lodged a written complaint with Akhnoor SDPO, alleging therein that she was raped by him about six months ago after she was recovered in a complaint registered against the boy with whom she had eloped and married. The girl was kept inside the Khour police station for two nights and Mamta, posted at the same police station as SPO, had allegedly facilitated the commission of offence. She too was arrested in the case. "On her allegation, a case under section 376(2) was registered against ex-SHO at Khour police station while the woman SPO was booked under section 109 of RPC.
