| Protest against PHE, PDD held | | | Early Times Report
Udhampur, May 20: Residents of various localities today staged protest against PHE, PDD at three different places Jakhani, Roundomail and Rethain in Udhampur District alleging that the concerned authorities have failed to provide basic amenities to the people in this scorching heat.
Large number of people including women here held strong demonstration at Jakhani against the PHE and PDD Department alleging that the PHE authorities have failed to supply drinking water in their area for the past over one month.
A local and one of the protestors Peer Gulzar Shah said they have brought the matter to the concerned authorities of the PHE and PDD department but nothing has been done to restore water supply.
"The temperature is swelling with every passing day thereby causing numerous difficulties to the inhabitants of the area," he added.
Large number of people including women and children also held demonstration at Roundomil against the PHE Department alleging scarcity of water in their area. The protestors were led by Ram Prakash sarpanch Roundomil. A large number of people including women of village Rethain also participated in this protest.
Villagers warned if the department fails to restore regular water supply to their localities they will be left with no option but to demonstrate outside the main office of the PHE Department. |
