| Locals protest against PHE Deptt at Baja Bain | | |

Sunderbani, May 20: People of panchayats Baja Bain and Kangri of Sunderbani Sub Division took to roads and staged protest against defunct water supply schemes in their localities for the last four months.
A large number of people including women and youth gathered at Sunderbani Nowshera highway this morning and held a protest against PHE department alleging for non availability of drinking water for the last four months.
Raising slogans against department and state govt, the protestors alleged that inspite of sufficient machinery installed at lift station and the PHER department has failed to provide water to the locality. They also alleged despite repeated requests from people of two panchayats, the authorities paid no attention towards the genuine demand of people.
"The XEn failed to provide employees with mechanical expert to rectify technical snag of some machines, they said adding, "as a result the public is forced to live with water for last four months."
The speakers asked the local MLA if these were the Achhe Din as dreamt by PM Modi. Due the protest the normal traffic on road remained affected for hours together.
It was after Four hours that a JE (Mechanical Division) was dispatched from Rajouri who tried to pacify the agitating protestors at his best but failed.
Talking to Early Times, JE (Mechanical Div) said that there's a shortage of employees due to which the whole system of pumping is suffering. He will try his best to manage men for Baja BAIN and redress the issue within shortest possible time.
Pawan Kumar, Rajinder Kumar, Amit Kumar, Rimpal Kumar, Ram Kumar, Asha Devi, Bimla Devi, Savita Sharma, Indro Devi and others participated in this protest. |
