| Land grabbing incidents galore in Poonch | | |  MS Nazki

Poonch, May 22: Corresponding to the development of rural areas, the menace of land grabbing is also on the rise, posing challenges to the concerned authorities and causing inconvenience to hapless citizens.
One such example has come fore in Gohlat area of Mendhar the sources said here today.
Sources said the Horticulture Department Mendhar has 8 kanals of land under Khasra no.145 170 and 178 in its possession which actually belongs to Saif Mohd and Shah Mohd of Gohlat area as per the revenue records. The girdawari and registration of the said land is in the names of above said persons since 1962. But Mohd Rashid, a resident of the same area is hell bent to encroach this land by hook and crook with the connivance of Tehsildar Mendhar and concerned Patwari of Gohlat.
When contacted Chief Horticulture Officer Mendhar RK Koul admitted that the land is in possession of Horticulture Department only while as it is registered in some other persons name.
The District Development Commissioner Poonch HS Malik told to Early Times that CHO has been directed by this office to submit the report in this regard.. |
