PGTA expresses concern over Govt Order | | | Early Times Report Jammu, May 25: J&K Post Graduate Teachers Association (PGTA) Association expressed serious concerns over the Govt. Order No.184-Edu of 2016 for conducting screening test in respect of only those ReTs who have acquired degrees from study centres and also those who figures in the selection panels of lien free vacancies. In a meeting of PGTA held here under the chairmanship of Naresh Kumar Sharma, Convener of the Association, the members termed it as an attempt of Govt. to make their invalid degrees as valid. Citing example of a case they said Supreme Court of India in a noted case of Prof Yash Paul and Ors V /.s State of Chhattisgarh has already declared that the degrees obtained through distance mode form off campus study centres are treated as invalid. The University of Jammu vide notification F.Acd/V/128/05 /6368-6517 dtd 05/10/2005 has notified that any course run by study centre/Franchises of any University in the country except IGNOU shall not be recognized. while University of Kashmir vide Circular No. F(Clarification, Equi/Recog.)Acad/KU/l0 dated May 17, 2010 as also stated degrees through MANU, IGNOU and DQEACC are only recognized. adding fuel regarding the burning issue of fake degrees. This whole episode of screening test will give airs to all those who obtained such degrees from tuck shops. |
