ARTO halts 'overloaded marriage party bus' invites ire of locals 5/25/2016 11:34:05 PM Early Times Report poonch, May 25: Assistant Regional Transport Officer (ARTO) Poonch Jahangir Ahmed Khan invited ire from locals when he stopped marriage party vehicles for over loading in Poonch. Soon after the challans the members of marriage party staged a protest in Purani (Old) Poonch to register their resentment. According to the report ARTO Khan challaned two vehicles bearing registration number JK12A-1166 (mini bus) and TATA Sumo bearing registration number JK12-2157 which reportedly were carrying marriage party and were overloaded. "Barat was going from Bandichechian to Kasalyan and when the vehicles reached at Purani Poonch ARTO stopped the vehicles, reports said. Meantime the groom who was also accompanying the marriage party, alleged that said officer was trying to prove himself an 'ultimate authority.' Soon after the incident the members of marriage party staged protest and blocked road. SHO Poonch Jatinder Raina rushed to the spot and pacified the protestors by asking to reach to bride's house and restored the normal traffic.
