Court awarded 3 years RI to accused involved in murder attempt | | | Early Times Report
poonch, May 25:The Principal Sessions Court Poonch today convicted one person and awarded 3 years Rigorous Imprisonment (RI) and a fine of Rs 5000 to the accused Opkar Singh. After hearing both sides, Principal Sessions Judge Poonch, Tahir Khurshid Raina while convicting the accused Opkar Singh s/o Manohar Singh of W-3 Poonch for attempt to murder announced the sentence for offences u/sections 324 , 341 RPC and 4/25 I AA. Court awarded three years rigorous imprisonment besides fine upto Rs 5000 in Sec 307 RPC and imprisonment in other offences as well to the accused. Meantime court also directed that all sentences to run concurrently.Ac per police case in the year 2009 complainant Altaf Hussain who was to drive a passenger sumo from Poonch Bus Stand to Mendhar blew repeated horns for getting a 'way' from accused who has parked his auto in the middle of the road. Provoked by repeated horns accused came out of Auto and started hurling abuses on the complainant and then brought out a sharp edged knife from his pent and attacked complainant. Complainant turned unconscious and was hospitalized while all the witnesses in the court confirmed the prosecution case. |
