Nearly 60 militants active in North Kashmir: Army | | | Early Times Report
Srinagar, May 25: Army today said they are apprehending increase in infiltration attempts in days to come but added the forces are ready to foil the attempts. Army's Gen Jarken Gamlin claimed that there were nearly 50 to 60 militants active in north Kashmir but said their morale was down as they face tremendous pressure from the armed forces. Gen Jarkin Gamlin made the assertions in North Kashmir's Mawer Langate where he inaugurated the CHINAR JAWAN CLUB, in the jurisdiction of Army's 30RR unit. He said the centre would open new avenues for the local youth besides providing platform for fun and learning. He said 18 such clubs would be set up by Kilo-force in various areas of the valley with an intention to provide opportunities for up gradation of skills to local boys and girls. "Army would wish all those youth who are indulging in stone pelting or taking up arms to shun the path and said youth are leader of tomorrow and are our future," he added. |
