Medical camp for differently abled children organized | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 29: Taking a step further towards reaching out to the divine's special creation, Head of the Cardiology Department of Government Medical College and Superspeciality Hospital, Jammu Dr. Sushil Sharma today organized a day long camp at JRC Home For Handicapped Udhey-wala in the outskirts of Jammu city in collaboration with CHILDLINE Nodal, Department of law, University of Jammu Accompanied by Prof Arvind Jasrotia (HOD Law/Director Childline) and a team of young doctors, paramedics and volunteers, Dr. Sushil Sharma reached the Home for in the wee hours of the morning and started scanning inmates of the Home for prevalence of cardiac diseases and other health ailments .More than 70 inmates and staff were screened for cardiovascular disease and other ailments. He took special care of those who were unable to move or walk. They were thoroughly checked and free medicines were given as per the requirements. 'Being disabled should not mean being denied from having access to every basic aspects of life", Dr. Sushil said. He stressed that these children are differently abled and likewise require special care and attention from the civil society. |
