Posting of SDPO Nagrota reward or punishment? | Transfers of DySPs | | Early Times Report
Jammu, May 29: Paving way for corrupt elements, bulk transfers of DySPs in Police Department on Saturdayapparently has discouraged the officers who were dedicatedly and honestly performing their duties. PHQ ordered transfers and postings of 54 DySPs but some of aggrieved officials said they were made scapegoat for others as a bid to control the movement beneath the water. "If authorities are picking up some dutiful officer from their posting prematurely there would only be one theory that the transfree is honest to the brim and is putting spanners into the work of some influential or corrupt elements", said a retired police officer. It may sound bizarre but it is true that the saffron party which is in power in Jammu as well as in centre failed to shield some dutiful officers who were being shuffled without giving any consideration towards their commitment to duty. Citing an example, source in the police department said that one of the police officers who waged a war against bovine smugglers was transferred prematurely and was shifted to armed battalion. It is pertinent to mention here that the BJP and its allied parties who have launched a massive campaign against bovine smuggling failed to shield the officer who virtually curbed smuggling via Jammu- Srinagar National Highway in his Sub-Division. Sources in the police department said that from January 2016 to May 2016 total 48 FIRs have been registered against bovine smugglers in all police stations of Jammu district out of which 37 were registered in Sub-Division Nagrota. As per statistics, from March 2015 to November 2016 atleast 48 FIRS have been registered in connection with bovine smuggling incidents in Nagrota and Jajjhar Kotli Police Stations during seven months, which came under the jurisdiction of Nagrota Sub-Division. It clearly indicates that the officer had made dent on the bovine smuggling which irked the smuggling mafia who apparently influenced the senior officers to shift the officer who had deterred their business. |
