4 sewerage projects in Jammu expected to be completed by March 2017: Govt | | | Ishtiyaq Ahmad
Early Times Report Srinagar, May 31: The Jammu and Kashmir government Tuesday informed that four sewerage Projects in Jammu city are under implementation and are expected to be completed by March 2017. In a written reply to legislative Assembly, the Deputy Chief Minister who is also the Housing and Urban Development Minister of the state has said that four sewerage projects in Jammu city are under implementation namely 'Comprehensive Sewerage scheme phase Ist Greater Jammu, Sewerage Treatment Works for left out areas Phase II division A of Greater Jammu, Procurement of Sewerage Plant (STP) of 30 MLD Capacity at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu and Sewerage Project Phase II ( Left out poration of Talab Tilloo. The Deputy Minister has mentioned in the reply that the project Comprehensive Sewerage scheme Phase Ist Greater Jammu has been sanctioned by GOI under JnNURM during 2008.09 at a cost of Rs. 129.23 Crore and is executed by NBCC. An amount of Rs. 64.74 crore has been incurred up to March, 2016. He has said that project sewerage network for left out areas phase II division A of Greater Jammu was also approved by GOI under JnNURM during 2011, 2012 at a cost of 20.32 crore and against which an amount of rupees 3.08 crore were utilized up to March 2016. Nirmal Singh has informed that as both these projects were sanctioned under JnNURM for which the GOI has stopped release of funds. However he has claimed that request has been made to GOI for providing the balance funds for the incomplete projects of JnNURM under newly launched AMRUT mission. Singh has informed that the procurement of sewerage plant (STP) of 30 MLD capacity at Bhagwati Nagar, Jammu is executed by ERA and is funded under ADB at a cost of rupees 156. 56 crore against which an amount of 104.62 Crore has been utilized up to March, 2016. The expected date of completion for the project is on March, 2017. He has said that sewerage Project phase II (left out portion of Tallab Tillo) is funded under state plane at a cost of rupees 14.39 crore against which an amount of rupees 9.07 crore has been utilized up to March 2016.The expected date of completion is March 2017 subject to availability of funds. The total expenditure incurred on these comprehensive sewerage schemes from 2009 to 2016 is 181. 4 crore. |
