LPU organizes pedagogy training for English teachers of Tibetan secondary schools | | | Agencies
Jalandhar, June 30: Lovely Professional University organized one-week pedagogy training for English teachers of different Tibetan secondary schools. 26 secondary English teachers from different Tibetan society schools participated in the training program. Sharing social responsibility under its project 'Disha', LPU empowered Tibetan schools' teachers with smart teaching skills in English. Department of Education of Central Tibetan Administration (DoE CTA) had nominated the names of the participants for in-service training at LPU. The training promoted discussions that teachers do not teach English in a modern way as per the latest techniques and technologies are available. Realizing the same, LPU faculty members imparted new methodology of teaching English in relation to multi-media and internet. Tibetan teachers were also guided how to use latest pedagogy and tools of teaching. Teachers were urged to be aware of choosing right curriculum and textbooks with international standard. Chief Education Officer of DoE CTA Mr Tenzin Dorjee, Education Officer Tenzin Yangchen, LPU Senior Dean Dr Sanjay Modi inaugurated the first training session. LPU Chancellor Ashok Mittal expressed: "We are happy to be a contributor in the education sector. We are satisfied that the areas we have touched and contributed for such a noble cause are sure to return much to the society. The hundreds of teachers groomed at LPU will certainly mentor many thousands of students coming in their touch." Mr Mittal further informed: "LPU is providing educational consultancy to other educational institutions across India and the globe. Being biggest resource container, we have conceived & designed career counseling and guidance project under which we have trained Central Schools', Punjab Government Schools' and many other institutions' teachers also." |
