Farmers' tour flagged off | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 21: Daljit Singh Chib, Vice Chairman of Jammu and Kashmir Advisory Board for development of Kissan Board along with MLC, Charanjeet Singh Khalsa flagged off farmers tours here at Kisan Board office Panama Chowk, Rail Head Complex, Jammu where among others officers of Agriculture and allied sectors were also present. To boost the agriculture in our State, A delegation of 45 farmers from Jammu province were today flagged off on five days exposure visit outside the State viz. Punjab, Haryana and Himachal by the J&K Advisory Board for Development of Kissans. The farmers representing different districts of Jammu Province who are associated particularly with vegetable cultivation were sent under (Information, Communication and Education) Programme and the aim of this scheme is to update the skill of farmers and to acquaint themselves with the latest innovations in Agriculture Technology which is taking place in the Agriculture sector. This programme will help to increase production and productivity of the farmers and raise their economic standards. This tour is of immense importance to boost the agriculture in our State, the farmers are visiting the centre of excellence for vegetables at Kartarpur Punjab wherein high-tech vegetable production has been introduced and is a new innovation in field of agriculture. |
