Mass transfers in Govt departments: Is political abortion imminent? | | | Ali Yusuf Early Times Report Srinagar, Aug 21: Rumour mill is churning fast over the mass transfers affected by the coalition government in last one week in several important departments as many believe that the coalition government has preempted its gradual fade out in view of the prolonged unrest in the Kashmir valley, which is threatening to spill over to certain areas of Jammu division as well. Government has ordered mass transfers in Revenue department, Power development department and Health and Medical Education and even Police (Home department) recently, which has raised many a hackles within the political watchers, who opine that such mass transfers that too at time when a division of the state is on boil for over a month and half are indicative of sense of uncertainty and insecurity within the establishment. "These mass transfers are indicative of confusion and ambiguity within the Government and assumption on part of the Government that their days were numbered" said a political commentator in Jammu. "Minor shuffles to tighten the administrative machinery especially in view of the prevailing imbroglio is comprehendible, but such mass transfers and that too in several departments are signs of panic on part of the government" he added. In the recent orders, 118 Tehsildars transferred in Revenue department, vide order no. 108 Rev (gaz) dated 18th August 2016. 375 AEES in PDD were transferred on August 16, 2016, 42 doctors were transferred in H&ME department on 11 August, 2016, while 6 DIGs, 13 Dy SPs and 44 inspectors were transferred in Police department during little over a week. |
