Students of Presentation Convent school visit UN HQ 8/29/2016 11:22:44 PM Early Times Report Jammu, Aug 29: Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu visits United Nations Headquarters New York for the first ever IIMUN A team of fifteen delegates including Sr. Hema, Principal and Komaljit Kour, from Presentation Convent Senior Secondary School, Jammu took part in the historic Indian International Model United Nations held from 15 to 17 August 2016 in New York, USA. The school got an opportunity to participate in the competition after winning the Inter School MUN held at Heritage school in the month of April. Two hundred delegates from different schools of India as well as Colombo and Bahrain participated in this conference. With the echo of National Anthem resonating in the air the conference began which was followed by unfurling of the Indian Tricolour in the United Nations Headquarters. The program included dance performances from Bharatnatyam to the foot tapping Hip Hop. The gathering was addressed by Kaushik Basu Senior Vice President World Bank. He emphasised on honesty, trustworthiness and integrity as important human values and to be inculcated for personal development as well as development of the society as a whole. Rishabh Shah, founder IIMUN, also laid stress on soft power and how this can help India mark its position on the global front.
