BJP MP 'forces' pvt chopper to fly | | | Early Times Report Kishtwar, Aug 29: A Member Parliament of ruling Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Monday reportedly forced a private chopper to take him to Kabban village in this frontier district. Sources told Early Times the BJP MP reached Padder village in a private chopper this morning from where he visited Mata Chandi temple at Machail and paid obeisance there. As soon as the private airline chopper landed at Gulabgarh, the BJP MP disclosed that he wants to visit Kabban, a village which was adopted by him under Prime Minister village Development Scheme. Under this scheme each MP had to adopt a village for development. The pilot of the private chopper, according to sources, refused to fly to Kabban citing various reasons including non approval of the said air route, beside non availability of the proper helipad that could cause damage to the chopper and can threaten the life and property. "The MP insisted and remained adamant on his demand that he wanted to fly to Kabban," sources added. They said infuriated MP asked the Deputy Commissioner Kishtwar to grant a written permission to the pilot to fly to Kabban. "It took at least two hours to negotiate the issue before it was resolved. Besides granting the permission the DC also managed the rent to be paid to airline service provider as airfare charges." After visiting the village Kabban, the BJP MP asked DC Kishtwar to immediately float the tenders for 16 KM Sohal-Kabban road to be constructed under 10th phase of PMGSY. The locals also put apprised the MP about the problems faced by them and urged the BJP MP to raise their issues in concerned quarters for immediate disposal, sources added. |
