Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 29 : Special Municipal Mobile Magistarte M R Chak today directed the crime branch (CB) of police to investigate under section 156 (3) of CrPC the alleged matter of issuance of fake appointment orders to two unemployed youth by as many government employees. The court directive came in a petition filed by Gurdas Kumar and Suman Lata, seeking a direction to CB to register a case against the alleged cheats -- Kamaljit Singh, a meter reader posted at Green Belt Division-II, Gandhi Nagar, and Gurpreet Singh, a GAD employee. As the complainants' children are unemployed, the accused approached them with the assurance to provide them government jobs. The duo allegedly took Rs 11.20 lakh from them in October 2014 and handed over two appointment orders purportedly issued by the GAD under secretary on November 22, 2014 in favour of Rajeswar and Shivam Sharma. When they approached the concerned department for joining, they were told that the orders supra had not been issued by GAD. One of the complainants then filed an application under RTI Act which came to be replied on April 12, 2016 by the GAD under secretary who said that no government order bearing No 971-GAD of November 22, 2014 has been issued by the department. The court, after going through the complaint and the documents appended with it, observed that since the complainants had been duped by the accused of their hard earned money, the matter needed to be investigated thoroughly so that the money was returned to them and the accused were dealt with according to law. The court forwarded the complaint the CB SSP, Jammu, with the direction to investigate the matter under section 156 (3) of CrPC. (JNF) |
