Early Times Report
Jammu, Aug 29: In a petition filed by a police cop, seeking quashment of an FIR registered against him by the crime branch on May 13, 2016 in a corruption case, high court judge Tashi Rabstan today issued a notice to CB and said subject to objections from other side, proceedings under sections 4-A and 4-C read with section 5(2) of Prevention of Corruption Act shall remain stayed against the petitioner. The CB has registered a case against cop Mohammad Saleem under sections 420, 465, 467, 468 and 471 of RPC. A written report against him was lodged by Vikramjeet and three others, alleging therein that the accused, impersonating as a railways employee, had taken Rs 3 lakh from each of them on the assurance of providing them jobs in the department. After allegedly taking money from them, he took them to Kharagpur, Jharkhand, and kept them there for about three months and thereafter vanished in the air, thereby duping them of their hard earned money. He had also provided them appointment orders bearing No 1E/651/MC/COMML/P/1/S, 2.P/L-NO.ELS/1081 dated October 8, 2013, No IE/672/MC/COMML/P/1/S, No ELS/1072 dated October 8, 2013, No DRM (IR) 147/D/IR/DEL/NCR dated March 7, 2014 and No DRM(IR) 135/D/IR/DEL/NCR dated March 7, 2014. However, on verification, all these orders were found to be fake. CB found that out of Rs 12.00 lakh paid by the complainants to the accused, an amount of Rs 1,35,000 was credited to the accused's PNB account No 0517000100158052 and he had drawn the amount through ATM from different locations.
