Raising religious slogans like Jai Bole, Jai Vasu Ki Nag and etc, thousands of devotees drawn from District Chamba of Himachal Pradesh, Kathua, Udhampur, Doda and Jammu region and other neighbouring states participated in this annual Charri Yatra. The yatra will take its first night halt today at Hayan some five kilometers from the Bhaderwah and shall leave early morning for Kailash Kund and it would reach the Kund same day. Here it needs to mention that hole Mace (Charri) Yatra after its formal starts from Gatha temple passes through arduous track and picturesque and religious places including Ganthak, Ramtund, Sankh Paddar Rishi Dal, Gow Paida etc covers a distance of some 14 miles on foot. Situated at the height of 14,500 feet from the sea level the holy Kailash/Kaplas Kund (lake) is lake of cold and crystal clear water spreading over 1.5 mile circumference. The devotees shall take bath in cold water of the Kund and perform Pooja of Lord Shiva and Vasuki Nag and then the Yatra will then return to Bhaderwah. |
