JAMMU, Sept 7: After cutting funding lines of the separatist leaders, the Centre is now seriously thinking to curtail foreign trips of Hurriyat leaders, who have been enjoying VIP treatment since inception of terrorism in the State. For the last one month, Centre has taken very serious step to block funding of Hurriyat leaders. After successfully blocking funding of these leaders, Centre has now decided to take one more step. As relatives of most of the Hurriyat leaders are enjoying luxuries lives at abroad, Centre has decided to curtail these leaders'foreign trips by not issuing them passports. Slowly , the funding of personal expenses of Hurriyat leaders was whittled down and completely stopped after the NDA government took over. There has been negligible foreign travel by Hurriyat leaders in the past couple of years, said another official.Though Syed Ali Shah Geelani was issued a passport last year to enable him to visit his ailing daughter in Saudi Arabia, he ultimately did not travel.
