PDP leader expresses concerns over Environmental degradation in Samba | | | Early Times Report.
Samba Sept 7: PDP youth leader Sunny Sangral along with others have expressed his serious concerns over the environmental degradation in Samba district after alleged violations of norms by the pesticide industries over here in Samba. Addressing a press conference here today, PDP leader Sangral said, "These industries direct chemical and other harmful waste into different nallahs resulting into infertility of soil and other harmful effects on aquatic life in local water bodies." "Due to which contamination of water the people, animal and aquatic life gets affected especially whosoever consumes the contaminated water, he added. He also added that some people in down-stream areas are reportedly infected with skin and others infections. He however alleged that concerned department Pollution Control Board (PCB) is in deep slumber as some of officials at helms are having hands in gloves with owners of pesticide industries. PDP leader Sangral warned if the Pollution Control Boards fails to take necessary action they will be forced to come roads against these industries. PDP youth leaders Sahil Gupta and Neraj Dogra also were present in this press conference. |
