Excise sleuths conduct raids, one woman bootlegger held | | | Early Times Report
Jammu Sept 7: In order to curb the menace of illicit distillation of liquor illegal smuggling of liquor from other states, the J&K Excise Department while intensified its raids/checking of various localities today conducted raids in Bishnah and apprehended one woman bootlegger. Official spokesperson said, "Under the overall Supervision of Excise Commissioner, J&K T Angchuk and Deputy Excise Commissioner (Executive) Jammu, Nagendra Singh Jamwal, Excise teams led by ETO City Excise Range South Naeem Moughal and ETO Eradication Wing Jammu Suresh Sharma and others conducted a series of raids in Bishnah and RS Pura. "Excise sleuths raided illicit distillation units at villages Deoli, Makhanpur, Salehar, Kothey Bulandey, Kothey Salehar, Kotlimian fateh, Kotli Charkan and Tarachak to arrest the menace of illicit distillation, he added.During the raids, the excise sleuths apprehended one lady identified as Neelam Kumari w/o Late Surjeet Kumar of Kothey Salehar and Two (02) bottles of illicit liquor were rfecoevred from her possession, he said adding, "the accused as booked under section (48) of J&K Excise Act accordingly." Spokesperson also said that approx 300 Kgs of material used for Lahan (Illicit liquor) and 05 bottles of illicit liquor were recovered by the raiding team which were destroyed on the spot. |
