| Six held with 25 gm heroin, 350 gms of Charas in Jammu, Rajouri | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 7: Continuing its dive against drug and narcotics peddlers, Police claimed to have arrested six persons have been held with 25 grams of heroin and 350 grams of charas in two separate incidents in Jammu and Rajouri .
In Jammu, police arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 25 grams of heroin from their possession during a naka checking at Bhatindi.
Police spokesman said that Bhathindi Police under Operation 'Sanjeevani' launched by SSP Jammu, Dr Sunil Gupta achieved a major success by recovering 25 grams of heroin from notorious drug peddlers.
"During a routine checking of vehicles at Sunjwan Morh, Bathindi Police intercepted a vehicle Bolero bearing registration number JK02BA-7186 in which three youths were travelling.
"Finding something suspicious, the police subjected the vehicle for thorough checking and frisking of occupants of vehicle, police said, adding, "During checking, team found Heroine weighing 25 grams from the possession of Rameem Ahmed Malik son of Bashir Ahmed of Malik Market and Mukhtiar Ali son of Sadar Din of Mandi Poonch at present Shankar Nagar, Narwal Jammu and Altaaf Hussain son of Nazir Ahmed of Khanpur Nagrota.
A case under FIR no. 185/2016 under section 8/21 NDPS Act has been registered against them.
The catch was made by in-charge police post Bhathindi, Mukhtiar Choudhary under the supervision of SHO Bahu Fort Bharat Sharma, SDPO East Chandan Kohli and SP South Shahzaad Salaria.
Meanwhile, Rajouri police also have arrested three drug peddlers and recovered 350 gms of Charas from their possession. Police spokesman said that as a part of special drive against drug menace launched by Rajouri Police, today Police Party of SOG Rajouri under the supervision of DySP Operation, Iftkhar Ahmed and SHO Rajouri Inspector Chaman Gorkha along with Police party of Rajouri on the directions of SSP Rajouri Rajeshwar Singh raised a special Naka at Kheora, Rajouri and intercepted three persons.
Spokesman further said that the accused persons on seeing police party tried to fled from the spot and after giving a hot chase police team apprehend the trio.
"During the frisking of the trio, the police team recovered consignment of the Charas wrapped in the 14 maize pods popularly known as 'Challian' a local name of 'maize'.and 14 Challian of Charas weighing upto 350 gms was recovered from their possession. The accused have been identified namely Sabar Hussain son of Mohd Hussain of Dodaj Darhal, Pervaiz Hussain son of Wazir Hussain of Doongi and Tarseem Lal son of Puran Chand of Brahanpur, Gurdaspur. In this regard, case under FIR No.582/2016 under section 8/20/21/22 NDPS Act has been registered at Police Station Rajouri and further investigation is in progress. |
