Early Times Report Poonch, Sept 7: As two years have passed since the flash floods and heavy rains hit the jammu and Kashmir in September 2014, the victims of the natural calamity in Poonch still are awaiting relief package, said Insaaf Movement here today. Many of them have expressed their disappointment over the slow process of rehabilitation by the authorities. According Javid Iqbal Reshi the chairman of Insaaf Movement who visited Degwar area of Poonch district the people of Degwar, Malti and Malhan still are dependent upon broken bridge. Expressing his shock over the issue, he said the government has totally failed to provide basic necessities to the common masses of the society. He said children and women of these areas too are forced to cross the river through this broken but hanging bridge and risking their lives. He said that Insaaf Movement Jammu and Kashmir Poonch will held a convention/review meeting at Prade Ground Park Poonch today to pay tributes to those who lost their lives in natural calamity. Abdul Rashid Shahpuri, vice president Insaaf Movement and Foji Mohd Rashid, joint secretary of the movement said this broken bridge is one of examples of failure of government. They said the people of villages Sathra, Kalani, Purani Poonch, Azad Mohalla and in Mandi, Surankote and Mendhar tehsils are still deprived of basic facilities by the authorities after flood 2014 |
