Early Times Report JAMMU, Sept 7: While a TSO has been booked for his alleged involvement in the issuance of bogus ration cards at Kathua, the State Vigilance Commission (SVC) has sought the personal appearance of joint director (adm), CAPD. A complaint in this regard was lodged with SVC by Sanjeev Gupta, sarpanch of Chhan Rorian, Kathua, in December 2014, alleging therein that then Assistant Director and TSO, Kathua, had without any authorisation shifted two ration depots from their original location and also issued bogus ration cards. Taking notice of the complaint, SVC directed inquiry through the deputy commissioner, Kathua, who, in his report, confirmed the issuance of 177 bogus and duplicate ration cards to different people, SVC sources said. On SVC directions, Deputy Director (supplies) established charges of misuse of office against the TSO for the unauthorised shifting of two tation depots and supply of extra ration, thereby causing loss to the state exchequer. In furtherance of the inquiry, the TSO's one year annual pay increment was ordered to to stopped on May 6, 2016 and the AD, Kathua, was directed to recover the extra cost of ration. SVC also sought the personal appearance of joint director (adm), CAPD, on October 5, 2016 to report about the recovery of cost of extra ration, lodging of police complaint and the alleged issuance of 177 bogus and duplicate ration cards. |
