RWF holds protest, demands adjustment of rural girls in Govt deptts | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 16, Hundreds of girls from Suchet Garh, Bishnah, Dablehr, R.S Pura and other rural areas of Jammu hold a protest demonstration under the banner of Rural Women Foundation (RWF) outside Press Club Jammu here today in support of their demand of adjustment in government services. Addressing the gathering, RWF president Sunita Sharma said that the girls from rural areas have always been ignored by the successive state governments in respect of their welfare as well as their appointment in government services. She said that village girls achieve their education under very hard circumstances and cannot compete with the urban girls as for the education standard is concerned. Sunita Sharma demanded special recruitment criteria for rural girls. She further said in fact the rural girls are physically healthy and strong so they must be given preference in recruitment of SPOs in Police department. She appealed to Director General of JK Police K. Rajindra to adjust rural girls as SPOs in the proposed women battalion of Police. Sunita Sharma appealed to Prime Minister Narender Modi and Chief Minister Mehbooba Mufti to create employment avenues for rural women to make women empowerment in its real term and spirit. Sunita Sharma further said that protest demonstrations shall continue in all district of Jammu province till they get surety of meting their demands from the government. |
