Jammu, Sept 16: Separatists issuing yet another protest calendar in Kashmir and giving chalo calls without any relaxation in the evening hours is an attempt to trigger more killings and pit common masses against the security forces.
"Separatists have given chalo calls to bring people out of their homes so that they can confront the security forces which can lead to a few more deaths," said a Kashmir watcher.
A politician while talking to Early Times said, "Separatists are fighting a lost battle. One wonders why government is allowing them to issue the calendar. The internet in entire Kashmir Valley is down how come these separatists are able to circulate the calendar is a million dollar question. Law enforcing agencies should identify the people who are issuing this calendar and book them."
Sources claimed that in absence of Hurriyat dove Mirwaiz Umar Farooq and so-called chief of JKLF Yasin Malik, a son of a separatist leader, is running the show.
He said that people are fed up of protests and shutdowns as they have realized that these are exercises in futility. "Separatists have cancelled the relaxation in the evening hours as they had started fearing that the protests and shutdowns being called by them may fizzle out in coming days as people had started coming out in large numbers. People who are spearheading the protests in Kashmir have created a notion that Azadi is round the corner and protests cannot be called off. During the past two months separatists have been raising slogans like Right to Self Determination, Azadi and Pakistan. Their slogans too have started fizzling out along with the passage of time.
Giving chalo calls is the last option available with separatists as it would keep the pot boiling and won't allow the government to lift the curfew," said an analyst.
He said, "Separatists are sitting in the lap of their Pakistani handlers and are implementing their agenda in letter and spirit.
Kashmir economy is in shambles. Private sector has been ruined. Youth have been rendered jobless and Kashmir has been turned into a graveyard. Despite pushing Kashmir and Kashmiris to the edge separatists have not given up. They are leaving no stone unturned to ensure that Kashmir remains disturbed forever."
A Kashmir watcher said, "It's for the first time in the past 70-days that separatists have cancelled the relaxation in evening hours. The reason behind it could be the fact that nightlife had started getting revived and people had started moving out. In the new calendar separatists have imposed the ban on the movement of light motor vehicles that means they have given free hand to miscreants to indulge in stone pelting and break the vehicles which defy the protest calendar."
He said, "All of us know it very well that chalo calls have no takers and separatists give such calls to just add to the miseries of people to keep them confined within four walls of their homes. People in Kashmir have started coming out of their homes even during day time.
The only fear they have is that stone pelters may attack them. If people are provided the security protest calendar issued by separatists would vanish in thin air." |
