Dy CM reviews functioning of PDD, H&UD 9/16/2016 10:58:18 PM Early Times Report Reasi, Sept 16: Deputy Chief Minister, Dr Nirmal Singh today held a meeting with the officers of PDD , Housing and Urban Development department to review the functioning of these departments. Minister of State for Finance and Planning, Information Technology and Labour and Employment Ajay Nanda was also present in the meeting. Speaking at the meeting the Deputy CM directed the Power Development Department to upgrade the existing power infrastructure in the district and ensure that the Power Grid Station at Reasi is made functional in absence of machinery to augment power supply in the area. He also stressed on ensuring that the projects being implemented in the power sector are completed within the stipulated time frame and asked the concerned officers to regularly monitor the works on grounds so that set targets are optimally achieved. The Deputy CM asked the concerned authorities to organize camps to raise massive awareness among people regarding Ujala and Power Amnesty Schemes. Responding to the issues raised by the members of civil society present in the meeting, Dr. Singh said that the present Government is committed to provide improved basic amenities to the people and concerted efforts are underway to improve and upgrade the existing infrastructure of PDD. Dr Singh asked Director, Local Bodies to expedite the process of recruitment of various posts lying vacant with MC. He asked the authorities to prepare DPR for New Community Hall including an Auditorium which would come up on self financed mode.
