Former BJP-MLA Gharu Ram Joins Congress | PCC Chief welcomes him into Party | | Early Times Report
RS pura, Sept 16: Former MLA , R.S. Pura Gharu Ram today left BJP and joined Congress Party along with his hundreds of supporters. Gharu Ram was welcomed in the party at Congress HQ here today by the PCC president senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma, vice president Raman Bhalla and other senior Congress leaders along with large number of his supporters. Gharu Ram reached the PCC HQ Shaheedi Chowk Jammu along with his supporters amidst raising of slogans in favour of the Congress Party and its leadership. He was garlanded by the PCC president and other senior functionaries of PCC and inducted into the party. His supporters garlanded the PCC leaders and raised slogans in their favour. Gharu Ram, while addressing his supporters expressed full faith in the policies and its leadership in the country and state and assured to work dedicatedly to strengthen the party in R.S. Pura constituency and elsewhere amongst his supporters. He expressed gratitude to the party leadership for inducting him into the party and to serve the people in better way. Senior vice president Sham Lal Sharma while welcoming Gharu Ram said that his entry would give boost to the party not only in R.S. Pura belt but in other areas of his followers. He said the border belt has always believed in Congress ideology and a days ahead would see the strength of Congress. He expressed satisfaction that down-trodden sections of society are now turning towards Congress Party throughout the country. Vice president Raman Bhalla, incharge Jammu district, warmly welcomed Gharu Ram into the party and hoped that party would be strengthen further. Other prominent leaders who were present included PCC chief spokesman Ravinder Sharma, general secretaries Namrata Sharma, S. Manjeet Singh, Vikram Malhotra, former minister Gurbachan Kumari Rana, Indu Pawar (Mahila Congress president) DCC president Jammu urban Anil Chopra, PCC secretaries Shashi Sharma, S. Sobha Singh, Krishan lal Gupta, Neeraj Gupta, Surinder Gupta, Manjeet Singh Jatt, vice chairman Minority Cell S. Gurdarshan Singh, Sanjeev Sharma, S. Gajan singh, Kapil Singh, Sonu Dogra, Masood Choudhary and others. |
