Protesting teachers apprise DY chairman LC about problems 9/18/2016 10:56:36 PM Early Times Report Poonch, Sept 18: In order to know the problems of recently transferred teaching community of Poonch who are sitting on protest dharna in CEO office Poonch for the last one month, Deputy Chairman J&K Legislative Council Jahangir Hussain Mir visited on them. He was told by the protesting teachers that they were not transferred according to new transfer policy and no choice was asked from the teachers by the transfer committee as was observed in winter zones transfer mela. They further said that even females were not spared who are left with two years of service only and masters who have already served in other districts were transferred to far flung areas of district where locals can be adjusted easily. The Deputy Chairman asked them not to prolong their protest dharna as it has caused a great loss to the studies of the innocent children as he will take up this matter with the higher authorities. He also talked telephonically to Mos Priya Sethi from the spot and make her aware of the ongoing protest by the transferred teachers who assured him of the earliest conclusion under rules.
