Police resorts lagthi-charge | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 19: Police on Saturday resorted to lathicharge to disperse workers under the banner of PHE ITI Trained and CP Workers Association trying to block the national highway during protest at Dogra Chowk near Press Club Jammu. Numbers of workers under the banner of PHE ITI Trained and CP Workers Association staged protest against the concern authority in favour of their demands. Police tried to disperse the protesters to remove the blockade, leading to a clash and resorted lathicharge to clear the road of the protesters. According to press release, Tanveer Hussain said the last many year this association has been struggling to seek justice but the Association has always be fooled and inspite of so many assurance practically nothing is being done by the state Govt. with the result the workers of PHE Department has been facing acute probiems. The worker of PHE Casual labour Regularization of this poor casual labour who has been suffering badly in view of 15-20 years. He expressed anguish our non regularization of daily wager and casual labour in the state so much so they aren't being paid wages for last 34 month this has made things worse as these daily wagers aren't able to look after their families as their families are fully dependent on them for their livelihood. He said Govt. has been inept to solve the problem of casual labour wages rather they added salt of their wounds by hiking salaries of Legislators instead of giving some so occur to these daily wager. |
