2 soldiers from Jammu martyred in Uri attack, border villages in mourn | | | Early Times Report
Jammu, Sept 19: A pal of gloom descended the bordering villagers here after news about the death of two soldiers from remote belts of this winter capital was received by the family members. Two army jawans from bordering Ramgarh and Bishnah villages of Jammu region sacrificed their lives for the country in Uri attack yesterday in which 18 soldiers attained martyrdom and around 25 got injured while all four fidayeens were eliminated. Subedar Karnail Singh, of village Shibu Chak, Teh Bishnah, district Jammu and Havildar Ravi Paul, of village Ramgarh, district Samba were martyred in the attack. With teary eyes villagers were waiting for the bodies of martyrs to reach to their native villages from Srinagar where the wreath laying ceremony was held. Meanwhile, markets and bazaars observed complete shutdown in the villages and a sea of humanity thronged the twin villages to pay homage to the bravehearts and attend the funeral. The martyrs will be cremated with full military honours. However, lawyers under the banner of Bar Association of Jammu, today suspended their work in respect to the martyred soldiers and express solidarity. Protesting lawyers also raised anti-Pakistan slogans and sought stern action to prevent such incidents. |
