Soz bats for unity among all Kashmiri parties | Congress' insensitivity | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Sept 19: The nation was in a state of shock on Sunday in the aftermath of the Uri attack on the strategic Army camp and asking for stringent action against Pakistan, the mastermind of attack. It was only natural. After all, the attack had martyred 18 jawans and the attack was described by many as the biggest ever attack in years. Just at a time when the whole of the nation was in a state of mourning, for JKPCC chief and former Union Minister Saif-ud-Din Soz came out with a suggestion that all the Kashmiri parties must join hands so that all Kashmiris spoke in one voice and so that the Kashmir issue could be resolved. The PDP, the Congress, the NC, the CPI-M, the People's Democratic Forum (PDF) and the Engineer Rashid's party must come together and announce their stand on Kashmir, he said, adding that he committed two mistakes during the past few days. Soz said he was wrong when he expressed the view that Prime Minister Modi was doing something concrete to resolve the issue. He said he also committed a mistake when he gave credence to BJP national general secretary Ram Madhav's statement that the BJP could give the moon to Kashmir within the framework of the Indian Constitution. How insensitive did Soz turned. It was time for the Kashmiri leaders to condemn the attack and express sympathy with the bereaved families; it was the time to stand solidly behind the armed forces; and it was time to give unqualified support to Delhi, but Soz thought otherwise. He saw in the attack an opportunity to bring all the Kashmiri parties on one platform not to promote the national cause but to promote the sinister Kashmiri cause. The manner Soz and other Kashmiri leaders conducted themselves on Sunday only suggested that they had nothing to do with the sentiment of the outraged and wounded nation and that they would go on muddying the Indian waters in Kashmir. Indeed, it is a sorry state of affairs. India has to remain form and see to it that Kashmiri leadership's nasty game plans were defeated and defeated comprehensively. |
