Protest held over mysterious death of housewife, road blocked 9/20/2016 10:51:02 PM Early Times Report UDHAMPUR, Sept 20: family members of a married woman and locals of Panchari, Lander,Meer and Kainthgali today stahed a protest at Panchari and Kainthgali while demanding speedy investigation into the mysterious death of young house wife Nisha Devi (23) on the other day. Protestors also blocked the Panchari and Kainthgali road to register their resentment against alleged slow pace of police investigations in this regard. Addressing the protestors family members said that speaking on the occasion Nisha Devi (23) wife of Surinder Kumar of Kuddal village Purani Bhuti, Lander, tehsil Panchari was harassed and mentally tortured by her in-laws and husband. They also claimed that the lady also had registered a complaint of torture and harassment against her husband with Police Station Panchari just a day before her death but the police yet has failed to make any arrest. They alleged that despite the complaint, from deceased about her harassment, the police have only initiated inquest proceedings u/s 174 CrPC in this regard On receiving information of road blockade, the Tehsildar Panchari alongwith SHO Panchari rushed to the spot and tried to pacify the protestors but all went in vain. Meanwhile angry protestors also stopped the vehicle of CJM Udhampur, Swatantra Dev Kotwal Advocate and Advocate Sanjit Bavoria and demanded demanded a thorough probe in this regard.
