Indian opposition supporting Pak line on J&K | Khoon Ki Dalali | | Early Times Report
JAMMU, Oct 8: The situation in the country is very critical. The Government of India and the Army are doing their best to uphold the national unity and integrity with the Army playing a great role both on the border and Line of Control in foiling the Pakistani attempts at exporting terrorists to India. The last few days, especially after September 28, have witnessed the Indian Army achieving grand successes against Pakistan, staring with successful surgical strikes across the Line of Control and within PoJK, which is legitimately Indian. Besides, the Army liquidated at least seven terrorists during these days. The first reaction of the Congress to the surgical strikes was one of satisfaction. Both Sonia Gandhi, AICC president, and Rahul Gandhi, AICC vice-president and Sonia Gandhi's son, hailed Prime Minister Narendra Modi and reassured the Modi Government that the Congress was with it. Rahul Gandhi even went to the extent of publicly saying that "surgical strikes in PoJK was the first good work done by the Modi Government and congratulated it and the Army". The government, the people and the media praised the Congress and repeatedly asserted that the nation was one against Pakistan. It was a welcome development as it obviously raised the morale of the army. India is not Pakistan where Military rules the roost; in India, the Indian Army follows the instructions and directions of the political establishment. Clearly, the Congress' stand on the surgical strikes evoked a positive response. Even the BJP, its bitter political foes, hailed the Congress. Things changed dramatically two days ago, when Rahul Gandhi took a complete U-turn and accused the Prime Minister of hiding behind the soldiers' blood. "Modi Khoon Ki Dalali Kar Rahein Hain," he said while addressing a Kissan Rally in UP. The comment "Khoon Ki Dalali" changed the whole discourse with the ex-Army Commanders, media and the general public in one voice tearing into the Congress party and Rahul Gandhi. What further shocked the nation was that many Congress leaders jumped into the arena to defend the Rahul Gandhi's outrageous remark. Rahul Gandhi and the Congress have become the talk of the day ever since his Khoon Ki Dalali remark. It is disturbing that the Congress and similar other outfits say Jammu and Kashmir is an integral part of India and, at the time, conducting itself in a manner that hits the national interest and provides a handle to Pakistan to beat India at international forums. The Pakistani media has been, in fact, exploiting the statements of Rahul Gandhi and other Congress leaders, besides the statements of Arvind Kejriwal, Delhi Chief Minister, to tarnish India's image. AICC president Sonia Gandhi had one called the then Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi "Maut Ka Saudagar" and the Congress suffered a massive defeat not only in Gujarat but also across the country. It was hoped that it would learn lesson from the past mistakes, but it was not to be. The comment of Rahul Gandhi would not benefit the already declining Congress; it would further hurt it. |
