Kishtwar, Oct 11: Celebrating its 91st foundation day, Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh (RSS) today took out a rally in the communally sensitive Kishtwar town in which hundreds of RSS activists including government employees participated. The rally was led by Sunil Kumar Sharma, MoS Transport in Mehbooba Mufti lead PDP-BJP government. As per the details available with "Early Times" all the RSS activists first assembled at Bhartiya Vidya Mandir School situated in the outskirts of Kishtwar town where several Swayamsevaks including those who had arrived at Kishtwar from outside the state had gathered and highlighted the policies, aims and objectives of the RSS. A march was later taken out through various areas of Kishtwar town including Bunastan, Shaheedi road and its peripheral areas before it culminated. District administration Kishtwar had put elaborate security arrangements and blocked all entry and exit points of the town. However police did not allowed the RSS activists to march towards Muslim dominated areas including Bus Stand so as to avoid any confrontation. The Swayamsevaks marched in new dress of the RSS which included full pant and half sleeve shirt. Meanwhile Former R&B Minister and MLA from Inderwal, Ghulam Muhammad Saroori accused State government of promoting the communal activities in the district by allowing such events and promoting RSS in communally sensitive region. "The policies of the RSS are a threat to the secular ethics of the state and to the basic principle of unity in diversity, which is the strength of our pluralistic society" said Saroori. District Secretary National Conference Kishtwar Shabir Ahmed Kamal termed today's RSS march in Kishtwar as an open threat to long lasting peace and tranquility in Kishtwar District and said that by allowing such march, the District administration proved that it works under the direct influence of RSS backed lobby. |
