Govt not to terminate anti-national employees, courtesy BJP ministers | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 15: State Government has reportedly shelved its decision to terminate over 50 government employees who were directly involved in anti-national activities-thanks to the petty personal interests of the power hungry BJP ministers. Termination of over 50 government employees, whose involvement in attacking security forces and instigating youth to indulge into violence has been established, was on the agenda of the Friday's Cabinet meeting but the issue could not take up because BJP ministers were more concerned about managing plum postings for their officers rather than taking action against such employees. Sources in the corridors of power said that due to pressure from Hurriyat Conference and other separatist groups of Kashmir Valley, PDP ministers were not interested to take action against any employees, whose involvement has been establishment in anti-national activities but it was all due to the pressure of intelligence agencies that government had incorporated this issue also in the agenda of Friday's Cabinet meeting. PDP ministers, sources said, were also thinking that their BJP colleagues would strongly take up this issue because BJP claimed to be champion of nation's cause but none of the "so-called" nationalist minister has taken up this issue during Friday's cabinet meeting. Sources in the corridors of power said that instead of taking up this important issue in the Cabinet meeting, pockets of the BJP ministers were filled with slips carrying names of officers to whom they wanted to adjust on plum postings. Power brokers, who have been working on behalf of BJP ministers in the open market, have handed over such lists to the "nationalist" ministers so their (BJP ministers') concentration in the Cabinet meeting was to act on the directions of these power brokers. Sources further said that Sangh leadership was also very much aware that termination of anti-national employees was also on the agenda of the cabinet meeting but some Sangh leaders were also more concerned about adjusting their relatives and known persons on their plum postings. Some Sangh leaders have also given lists to the BJP ministers about their "known persons" to arrange important postings for them. |
