| Bandh observed against RSS march | | | Early Times Report
Kishtwar Oct 15: A day-long bandh was today observed in Doda and Kishtwar to condemn the march taken out by RSS cadres in the two towns. The bandh call was given by Jamia Masjid Imam Farooq Ahmad Kichloo yesterday in his address to the Fridaycongregation. He had also condemned the registration of FIRs against the Kishtwar youth on sedition charges.
All the shops and business establishments belonging to a particular community remained closed in the towns of Doda and Kishtwar while traffic was also off the roads. While some private institutions were also closed, government schools recorded a thin attendance.
The bandh passed off peacefully as no untoward incident was reported from anywhere.
The civil administration and police had strengthened security arrangements at key locations in the sensitive areas. All the shops were, however, opened in the evening and vehicles were also on the roads.
