Truck hit safety tunnel on highway, traffic blocked for five hours | | | Early Times Report
Banihal, Oct 20: A truck on Thursday hit a safety tunnel on Jammu Srinagar highway near Shabanbas Banihal which were installed for the safety of traffic on construction site by HCC company engaged with the construction of four lane project which resulted into suspension of traffic on highway for more than five hours. Reports said that the Hundustan construction company (HCC ) has erected safety tunnels of graders near construction sites on the highway for safety purposes which stops the Rolling Stones and other muck while working on four lane. On Thursday morning a Punjab based truck hit this safety tunnel and this ordinary safety tunnel gone out of track and a still grader fall down on truck. After the incident a Hydra crane was pressed to remove the steel grader from the truck and in the mean time the tyres of Hydra crane blasts which also turned on road. Latter after the hectic efforts of company and contractor this Hydra crane and grader were removed with the help of some more machines. After removing the steel girder and Hydra crane from the road the traffic was restored at 1 pm on both sides on the highway after five hours of closer. Heavy lines vehicles of traffic jamming were seen on both sides of the highway during this five hours long restoration. However no loss of life is reported in this accident on the highway. |
