JAC demands strict compliance of Apex Court order on reservation in promotion | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Oct 20: Joint Action Committee (General category) demanded strict compliance of the Supreme court order of 'status quo' in the case of 'No reservation in promotions' and exhorted upon the Commissioner Secretary of PDD and all other concerned officers to honour the verdict of supreme court and the existing circular of GAD in this matter in a meeting. According to press release the meeting was presided over by Ved Prakash Sharma and was attended by Narayan Singh , President Rajput Sabha, Vinod Gupta ,President Central Mahajan Sabha and other leaders. It is pertinent to mention that after 11 years of relentless struggle in J&K High court and thereafter in the Supreme court, the justice has been met out to the General category incumbents. Deserving candidate belonging to general category was made to stagnate at their current post by unconstitutional reservation in promotion rules. The Joint Action Committee expresses anguish and dismay over the issue considering the fact that the Hon'ble High Court has quashed the reservation in promotion rules and the Hon'ble Supreme cout had directed to maintain status quo. The GAD circulars in vogue currently have also stated that no reserved category candidate should be promoted till the outcome of the writ petition in the Hon'ble Supreme court. Joint Action Committee unanimously appealed the top brass of Government to make efforts for speedy disposal of the case in the Supreme court so that deserving general category candidates are benefitted. |
