By removing Drabu, Mehbooba shows mirror to BJP | | | Early Times Report Jammu, Mar 12: After sacking Finance Minister, Dr Haseeb Drabu from her ministry, Chief Minister, Mehbooba Mufti has given message to the coalition partner BJP that unlike Saffron Party she is not going to compromise on PDP's core ideology. Since formation of PDP-BJP government in J&K, BJP in one way or other is shamelessly compromising with its core ideology be it in the issue of Article 35A, Article 370, issue of West Pakistani refugees or border residents. It is first that since formation of this government that one PDP minister has given some remarks which do not suit with core of party's ideology and within no time, party leadership removed him from council of ministers despite the fact he is man behind formation of this government. As far as BJP is concerned, party in J&K has completely and shamelessly compromised with its core ideology. To keep in power, most of the BJP ministers are not hesitating to toe separatist agenda. Important to mention here that Drabu was removed for his remarks that Kashmir "isn't a political issue but a society with social issues." The remarks created a storm and Drabu was attacked from left right and centre even Jammu Kashmir Liberation Front Chairman called him an opportunist while senior Congress leader Saifuddin Soz accused him coming up with this naïve statement on the behest of his (BJP) mentors. PDP Vice President Sartaj Madni had asked Drabu to retract the statement immediately. Drabu who was instrumental in extending GST to Jammu and Kashmir declined to comment on the issue. "I have to nothing to say," he told a new agency when contacted. |
