Early Times Report

Jammu, Mar 12: A blue-eyed official working in universities of state, has finally been rewarded with highest grade pay of Rs. 10,000 for his loyalty towards his political master, despite having an MBA degree from a Study Centre of Sikkim Mannipal University and B.Tech from an unknown private college of Maharashtra.
Sources informed Early Times that the political influence of official could be gauged from the fact that for his permanent absorption, a post was recently created in a varsity of Jammu. "Moreover the government has also approved grade pay of Rs. 10,000 for the official and this highest grade pay is given to University Professors, Registrars or Deans of various departments in Universities", sources said, adding that moreover the selection on these posts was made through open competition but this official was appointed on recommendations of his political masters.
The official, sources said, had done B.Tech from a little known private college of Maharashtra, after which he had got a degree in MBA that too from controversial Jammu Study Centre of Sikkim Mannipal University.
"With these degrees, the official initially joined Jammu University as contractual computer operator with meagre wages of Rs. 3000 per month and later he joined Baba Gulam Shah Bhadshah University on consolidated wages", sources said, adding that at BGSBU, he came close to a senior official and under his patronage, he got selected as Assistant Registrar.
"During the interview process, a total of over 250 candidates had appeared for interviews and many of whom were Ph.D with experience, NET,SLET, JRF and other qualifications in their kitty but a simple MBA from Sikkim Manipal University made it to the post", sources said.
Sources further said that later his appointment as Deputy and Joint Registrar were as per University Grants Commission guidelines but recently once again his master showered his blessings over him and got him appointed at a senior post in Jammu.
"There was no post created there but this blue-eyed was posted in Jammu on recommendation of his boss. To make him permanently absorbed in Jammu, a new post was created for him with a pay-grade of Rs. 10,000", sources said, adding that the pay-grade of 10,000 is highest grade pay and the officials, who have been getting such huge salaries were reached to these posts, due to their higher qualifications and experience.
Moreover, source said that he was also assigned a new job, associated with knowledge creation. "Despite having highest qualified academicians in Jammu and Kashmir, many of whom are qualified from world renowned universities but government has been preferring this official, due to his close association with his boss", sources said, adding that Chief Minister must take cognizance of the matter and take proper action.
